Mael Blot
Mael Blot, son of master maker Eric Blot, has started with passion his father’s profession who carefully guides him in the world of the construction of stringed instruments, noble activity - as well as complicated in all its aspects.
Since 2006, Mael has been creating instruments based on traditional and unsurpassed Cremones models, attentively following the handicraft criteria observed in his father’s workshop.
Mael started his apprenticeship with Master Massimo Negroni and has frequented with assiduity Master Giò Batta Morassi’s workshop for three years, a major figure in the violin making activity in Cremona.
Actually he is working in Eric Blot Srl workshop. He's making several instruments based on the classical italian tradition and he's studying the old italian fine stringed instruments to improve his knowledges.
He took part in the XIII International Triennial Competition of Violin Making A. Stradivari Cremona 19 September - 14 October 2011 and in the VSA International Competition Cleveland 11 – 16 November 2012.
He’s making a new model, a copy of a Peter Guarneri cello for the VSA International Competition in Indianapolis 15 – 21 September 2014.
